The Liberty Design System was built to create consistency across the full Liberty Mutual and Safeco suite of products — giving designers and developers a shared foundation of reusable, accessible components.

As part of a lean team of four, I helped design, build, and lead the design systems effort — researching, documenting, and developing new accessible components for the Sketch component library, with a focus on usability and consistency across products. The system shipped with a full component library for designers, code snippets for developers, and accompanying documentation, accessibility guidelines, and page examples.

Beyond the components themselves, I collaborated with cross-functional partners across marketing and content to drive adoption — helping teams build more consistently and strengthening end-to-end user journeys across the product suite.

The system drove measurable adoption across the organization:

• Satisfaction with component design improved from 40% → 70%

• Code implementation adoption grew from 14% → 41%

• Guidelines usage increased from 41% → 66%
